Andy Black – Introducing Irish Poker Tour’s Festival Ambassador
Andy Black
In partnership with Paddy Power Poker, the Irish Poker Tour is delighted to announce that Ireland's leading live poker player, Andy Black, is joining us in our mission to provide Ireland's top live poker experience for all players in Ireland and beyond.
Born in Belfast and resident in Dublin, Andy Black is probably Ireland's most famous poker player on the world scene.
Currently sitting 2nd on the Hendon Mob for Irish players with €4.9 million in live earnings, his largest scoring coming from a 5th place in the 2005 WSOP Main Event.
Andy was the #1 Irish player for over 17 years until Max Silver changed his nationality to Irish.
A regular supporter of all IPT live events for many years, Andy will be attending many of the future Irish Poker Tour festivals providing support and in-person training to players.
Asked about the Irish Poker Tour and his new role Andy said:
The Irish Poker Tour is the best national poker series in the world. It combines efficiency with charisma. Its stops are local, it's reach will become global. Well done Fintan, Donal all the amazing Irish Poker Tour team.
As 'Festival Ambassador' Andy will be proving some unique events at upcoming Irish Poker Tour festivals including group presentations and individual speed coaching sessions.
In what promises to be an experience never seen before at a live poker event, Andy will bring his out-of-the-box style to helping other players improve their games in ways beyond the usual type of ABC coaching that we are used to.
In the upcoming Irish Poker Festival in Killarney between Wed 26th Sept and Sunday 2nd October Andy will be putting on 2 events.
On Friday he is offering 10 players the chance to experience his unique concept of speed coaching. Over a 5-minute one-to-one session, he will identify and offer advice on one particular leak in your game and help you overcome it successfully over the festival and beyond.
On Saturday he'll be presenting a group session entitled 'Awaken The Player Within - It's Not About The Cards' which should be both entertaining and enlightening for all in attendance.
