Con Conquers Letterkenny
The denizens of Donegal had been demanding their very own Irish Poker Tour stop for nearly three years and they finally got their wish last weekend as the Donegal Poker Festival played out over three great days and nights in the Clanree Hotel just outside Letterkenny.
Every event was packed out with the Main attracting 415 entries and building a €106,125 prizepool. Con Collins from Clare but living in Belfast gave up a successful poker career five years ago to pursue marriage and family but dipped his toes in the Green Isle last month taking €15k in third place. This allowed him a second outing in Letterkenny and he duly took down first prize and €17,520 after a three way deal with Tomas Galkus (€16.4k) and Killian Farrell (€16.2k).
All three, along with fourth placed Paudie Cusack, also won packages for the Killarney Poker Festival next week. Can Con’s amazing run continue?
