Dublin Summer Poker Series is Sizzling

The 2022 Dublin Poker Series started with an almighty bang on Saturday, June 25th where an incredible field of 536 entrants produced a prize pool of €64,990, absolutely smashing the pre-tournament guarantee of €40,000 which was already mightily impressive for a €125+€25 event. Even the €10k side event proved to be a great tournament, paying out €19,497.

The Main Event had a party-like, fun-filled atmosphere with players trying their very hardest to win but taking the inevitable ups and downs of tournament poker in their stride. Everyone was there to enjoy themselves, even if everyone couldn’t win.

As always, a final table was reached and, as the money got bigger, the excitement level rose. When we got down to the last three a deal was struck with a modified ICM chop; the players got the value of their chip count with €2,000 and the attractive trophy put aside for the winner as they played out to a finish. Eventually, Manus O’Donnell took down his first major tournament and €11,944. Stephen Robinson (€7,970) and Michael Murphy (€8,285) took the other podium places.

Those in the know arrived early for registration as they felt sure that the demand for seats was going to be huge. Everyone that wished to play did get to play but some latecomers found that they had to queue for a while. Be sure to turn up on time for the next leg which kicks off at 2pm (Registration 1pm) on Saturday, July 23rd where once again €40,000 is guaranteed for a €125+€25 entry fee.

Another major attraction that day is the Mega-Satellite to the Road to Killarney Festival at 8pm. 10 x €1,000 packages are guaranteed; entry is €100+€20. The packages consist of three nights’ accommodation in the Gleneagles Hotel and entry into the €200,000 guaranteed main event.
