Galway Poker Festival Day 3 In A Nutshell

2025 continues in the Galmont with more winners, qualifiers and a few los- I mean temporary setbacks!!

Killian Maughan took the first trophy of the day in the Paddy Power Poker Twitch Freeroll, his first big win of the IPT. As well as €1,050, he woke up with a VIP package – a Main event buy-in and four nights luxury accommodation – to the Glasgow Poker Festival, running March 3rd to March 9th. Fintan has promised to pick him up from the airport personally, but maybe he’ll ask for a different driver.

Paul Lynam took down the Paddy Power Poker Mystery Bounty, winning a hefty €23,750 for his two days of effort. The were two 10K Bounties in that famous Paddy Power cardboard when play began for the 40 day 2 qualifiers. Aidan Hynes managed to pull the first one, giving him a total profit of €18,130 for his third place finish.

Mark Finnane beat out some big Irish Omaha names on the €650 Omaha Championship final table. Zeik Tuit, Andy Toole and Liam Chevalier all cashed but missed out on the €11,800 top prize.

Louis Cabral, an IPT newcomer, won the daily 5K guarantee, winning a top prize of €5,000 on a €17,720 prizepool. If we didn’t make the guarantee would it have been a winner takes it all event?

Gentleman of Poker, Aidan Cullinane is the current chip leader going in to day 2 of the Claddagh Cup with 392,000 chips, 100K above his runner up Frederico “One letter away from disaster” Hitner.

And in the Main Micky Weissman (after his trip to Jesus last week with the other two wise men) is leading the current qualifiers with a substantial 111,500.

Ray “Nickname withheld for legal reasons” Wheatley is second from the bottom with 33,500. He’ll barely be able to find the chips in his bag come Day 2 tomorrow.
