Galway Summer Festival Day 1 Wrap
Galway Summer Festival – Winners Keary and Harrington Making Headlines On Day 1.
The cards are in the air at the Galway Summer Festival, and already two players have stepped into the spotlight with standout victories.
Shane Keary was the first to make his mark, navigating a sharp field to lift the opening trophy. In a fast-paced finale he held his ground and closed it out for a well-earned €2,300 payday, while Barry O’Sullivan, Paul Carr and John Cormican also featured in the late stages. Paul ensuring he wasn’t going to let Keary pull further away in terms of the race for the leaderboard.
Hot on his heels came Katie Harrington, who showed real grit in the festival’s €8k in a Day. Facing down a 76-entry field, she held firm all the way to the finish line, banking €2,700 and stacking up a valuable 500 leaderboard points in the process.
Two different events, two big stories and a reminder that Galway always produces fireworks when the poker world comes to town.
