Irish Poker Tour Back in the Real Capital of Ireland
77 Entries on Day 1A in The Macau
The Irish Poker Tour is back in Cork in The Macau Casino which has the biggest and best poker room in the South of Ireland. As always in “the real capital of Ireland” there is a tremendous atmosphere but you have to be able to take a slagging, especially if you are an outsider.
The €15,000 guaranteed Main Event kicked off on Saturday night and attracted 77 entries which is well over 60% of the way to the guarantee so we are expecting a big prizepool come Saturday evening.
16 players survived through to the Final making for an average chip count of 144,000. Michael Hooper leads the way on 341,000, followed by Tour regulars, Christopher O’Hare on 253k and Michael J Ryan on 206k. Other notable qualifiers include Liz Kelly (176k) well ahead of her other half Derek Baker (113k), Mossie Fitzgerald (131k), Seán McCarthy (117k), and the great survivor Big Al Kelleher on 63k.
Day 1B starts at 12:30 on Saturday 8th with registration open for nine 25 minute levels.
