Irish Poker Tour Final 2025 – Day 3 Wrap
After a relatively mild festive period, temperatures have plummeted across the Emerald Isle. With snow falling in the North and more forecast, there was no better place to escape the cold than amid the action at the Green Isle in Dublin. With multiple opportunities to qualify for Sunday’s final, alongside side events catering to those joining for just the day, there was plenty happening throughout the venue.
Proceedings began with the €200k for €200 IPT Main Event Flight 1E, which attracted 220 entries. IPT regulars Paul Carr and John Farrell were among those hoping to secure a seat in the final, but both fell short in this flight. By the end of play, 24 players had advanced, with the largest stacks bagged by Alistair Jongman (444,000), Kevin Killeen (623,000), and flight chip leader Shawn Morales, who finished with 683,000.
Next to get underway was the €10k One Dayer, which saw 93 entries take part, creating a prize pool of €15,180. As the tournament progressed, the field steadily thinned. IPT regular Dickie Whiteside once again reached a final table, but his run ended in 8th place for €600. The final seven battled hard in a tightly contested affair, eventually seeing Jason Ward bow out in 3rd place, collecting €1,950. Heads-up play concluded with a two-way ICM deal, resulting in Adam Green finishing runner-up for €3,640. The trophy and €3,840 went to Victor Armesto Fernandez, who travelled over from London to play his first IPT event—and was delighted he did.
The second Main Event flight of the day followed in the form of Flight 1F, and it proved to be a huge one, drawing a staggering 329 entries. With so many chips in play, it presented an excellent opportunity to build a commanding stack. When play concluded, 40 players had secured their spot in Sunday’s final. Among the top stacks were Keith Touhey (450,000) and Aurimas Baksinskas (460,000), while Jamie W. Kelly topped the flight with an impressive 550,000.
The final trophy of the day was decided in the Omaha 7-Max event, which attracted 38 entries and generated a €6,200 prize pool. The top four places were paid, and once the tournament reached five-handed play, the tension was evident, with no player willing to give an inch. Leo Reid eventually finished in 3rd place for €1,100, while Aleksandras Nagreckis claimed 2nd, earning €1,650. The trophy and €2,700 went to Bogdan Sfirloaga, who travelled down from the North to compete. Originally from Romania, Bogdan was the shortest stack with five players remaining, but a strong comeback saw him reach heads-up play and ultimately secure the victory.
Rounding out the day was Main Event Flight 1G, which saw a further 83 entries added to the field. This brought the Main Event prize pool to €244,148, with one flight still to play and the final total yet to be confirmed. From this flight, 34 players advanced to the final. The leading stacks were held by Donie Lyons (397,000) and Aris Vocal (429,000), while Vincent Dynes finished as the flight’s chip leader with 437,000.
With such an impressive turnout so far, the stage is set for what promises to be a thrilling final day of action.
