London Poker Festival – Day 3 Wrap

As the nights get darker and the weather warrants warm clothes and staying in-doors. Where better to beat off the winter blues than sat at the table, with craic and competitive poker. When the IPT rolls into town it brings with it, a unique and somewhat indescribable element, which has to be experienced to understand.

The London Main Event Day 1B saw 26 entries signing up. With the entrance of Paul Carr and Shane Keary livening up the atmosphere in the room and other players rekindling friendships from previous events. In the end there were 3 players who went through to the final day. The stacks were as follows, Matthew Greig had 360000, Michael Canden-Lennox bagged up 471000 and Jack Moore had 554000.

Next up was the London 200 which saw 48 entries bringing the prize pool to £10,060. When it got down to the final 3 a deal was done to even out the money and play on for a bigger payout and the trophy. At the end of play Dillan Patel finished in 3rd with £2,117. In 2nd was Matas Gerdziunas who banked £2,217. Fresh off the plane from Malta, Paul Carr, who shot a bullet at the Mystery Bounty when he first arrived, stepped up to add another trophy to his ever-filling trophy cabinet. Paul took home the trophy and £2506.

The London Mystery Bounty Final got underway with the floor eager to see the first bounties pulled out. With 105 entries they began to whittle down with eager onlookers watching the action. The first bounty pull at the final table was for 5k resulting in a very happy Johnson Kitete-Kikumba. The final table was reduced down quickly to a heads up. For over an hour and a half Johnson Kitete-Kikumba and Ben Skinner battled it out. With Fabian Donovan finishing in 3rd who took home £3,500.00. In the end Johnson Kitete-Kikumba came 2nd banking £4,750.00. In first place was Ben Skinner who took home the trophy and £7,500.00.

The London Main Event Day 1C got underway which saw 28 entries signing up. Shane Keary had his first flutter of the festival, with his eyes firmly focused on the Omaha event the following day he was unable to bag up for the Main Event. At the end of play 5 players went through Andrei-Mircea Preda bagged up 287,000, Halil Gecaj had 359,000 and Yi Gu took forward 388,000.
