Paddy Power Leaderboard Goes Down to the Wire Final Events in Claremorris on December 21st

After an uncanny run of successes over the last few weeks, defending champ Paul Carr has put himself in position to steal the 2024 Leaderboard title from long term leader Hugh Smyth.

There is over €56,000 in the prizepool with the top three finishers winning 25% between them with the other 75% up for grabs in the top 16 Leaderboard playoff to be held on December 27th in the Green Isle Hotel. All top 16 qualifiers are guaranteed a minimum €500 payout with prizes ranging up to €10,000 for the winner. Included in the prizes for each of the top three finishers in the Playoff are luxury VIP package trips to the Glasgow Poker Festival in March 2025.

Hugh has been top of the pile for months and looked to be uncatchable but Paul has followed up his win in Cork with TWO wins at the Galway Winter Festival amongst other cashes. He now stands just 540 points behind Hugh who is very grateful that he managed a couple of cashes of his own in the Cork and Galway. It looks like only a win or a second place in the €20k in a Day in Claremorris will get the job done for Paul but in his current form that looks perfectly possible.

Shane Keary could lose out on third if Killian Farrell can get away from his cows long enough to get a top two finish in the McWilliam Park in Claremorris.

Further down the list the battle to get into the all-important top 16 playoff spots has heated up considerably with Duane McDonnell and Rodrigo Diaz bunny-hopping past Ian Hamrock thanks to wins in Galway. Anyone down as far as Zeik Tuit in 21st still has a chance to get to the Final in Dublin.
