Siege Of Clonmel IV – Final Day Wrap
Siege of Clonmel €73,440 reasons to celebrate. One champion. And so much in between.
Farrell Fires to Glory
Clonmel, County Tipperary.
A town built on hard work, good hearts, and this weekend… Local heroes!
From the opening bell, you could feel it. This wasn’t just another stop on the Irish Poker Tour this was a siege, the 4th installment. The €50,000 guarantee was shattered before the final flight, and by the time the cards hit the felt on Day 2, the prize pool had soared to €73,440.
Ninety-seven players returned on Sunday, each with a dream and a stack to defend. Donie Lyons led the way with 571,000, but there was no comfort at the top ,the leaderboard regulars were circling. Shane Keary, the man of the moment, found quads early to fuel another deep run, eventually falling in 24th for €700. With €16,500 up top, every decision carried weight.
Tommy O’Rourke’s KQ met Padraig McGrath’s aces on the bubble , a cruel ending, a brutal moment that poker so often delivers. McGrath surged to over a million and held the lead as the final field of 24 fought for glory.
Four hundred and forty-one entries later, we had our finale and a finish fit for the stage.

It felt almost written in the stars for Killian Farrell to win big in his home county. But fate alone doesn’t win tournaments …consistency does. And Killian’s been proving it for two years straight.
Thomas Hehir of Doyle’s Poker in Limerick gave him everything he could handle, finishing runner-up for €10,600 after a brilliant run. But when the final card landed, it was Farrell’s moment a homecoming win that moved him past Paul Carr into second place on the leaderboard.
Monsterstack
Eighty-three entries, nearly €10,000 in the prize pool, and another story.
John Stokes battled through ten hours of poker to claim victory, €2,460, and 500 points. A three-way deal saw James Conlon and Rolandas Radziukas take home €2,000 each, with Eddie Landy (€1,000) and Joey Moloney (€800) completing the top five.
Gastao Silva, Killian Whelan, Ray Kent, and Martin O’Rafferty also cashed in a field that never gave an inch.
Omaha 4/5 Card
“The stage was set, and Creagh had a capacity crowd on the rail.”
If at first you don’t succeed… keep showing up, keep fighting, and one day it’s yours.
That day came for Adrian Creagh in Clonmel. After a two-way deal, he outlasted Sideshow (Michael O’Brien) to finally lift the trophy he’s chased for two years. It was emotional, loud, and pure joy for one of the tour’s most liked and loyal players. Lovely jubbly indeed.
We’re still buzzing from the atmosphere at the Talbot Hotel, where the tables were full, the banter was loud, and the play was top-class.
When we first came to Clonmel back in May, we knew there was something brewing here. This weekend proved it. Clonmel isn’t just on the map anymore. It’s a poker stronghold.
Next stop: The London Poker Festival, November 4th to 9th.
See you at the tables.
