St. Patrick’s €100K For €100 – Day 3 Wrap
Those working during the week finally had a chance to come and have a go at qualifying for the €100K for €100 Main Event. Many regular faces from Ireland and afar strutted through the doors hoping to lift the St. Patrick’s Weekend €100K trophy, but first they would have to qualify for the final day.
The Dublin €100k for €100 Main Event Day 1B had 154 entries. The action kicked off at 11am and at the end of play 28 players went through. The chip leader was Yannick D’Heere with 361,000, 2nd was Arturas Pikturna with 342,000 and in 3rd place, Ernestas Kriauciunas taking 335,000.
In the St. Patrick’s Kings & Queens tournament run by two ambassadors of the Irish Poker Tour, Darren Harbinson and Tanya Masters was up next on the schedule. It attracted 35 entries eager for the chance to secure a trophy. There was a great mix of female and male competitors which created a great atmosphere around the tables. In the end a deal was done between Micky Merrigan and Karl Griffin. Micky who was just back from Glasgow and won the Glasgow 250 was the chip leader when it came to the final 3, a deal was made with Karl Griffin and Nick Slade, they split the remaining pot taking €1,140, Micky who had the highest stack lifted the trophy.
The Omaha 250 closed registration with 33 entries, Daryl McAleenan placed in 3rd with €1,200, in 2nd was Shane Keary a regular on the Irish Poker Tour circuit and 2nd on the Paddy Power Poker Leaderboard 2024, the winner James O’Sullivan, who won the €300 No Limit Hold’em – Winter Festival in 2023 took home the trophy and €3,300.
The 3rd flight for the Dublin €100k for €100 Main Event Day 1C attracted 362 entries, the high numbers showing how many enthusiasts of the sport want to get their hands on the coveted trophy. The room was alive with so many people battling it out. At the end of play the chip leader was Mark Murphy with 635,000, 2nd was Steven “Stork” Bartley and 3rd was Peter Curry with 635,000.
Later in the evening the Friday Night NLH €7.5k saw the return of Dara O’Kearney freshly adorned in a new shirt. Michael Merrigan decided to have another bash at it attempting to bring home 2 trophies in one night and making it to the final table. As the 9 sat down, Paudie Cusack sat down with well over double that of any other player in front of him, with 535,000. In the end Paudie could not be stopped; he took home the trophy and €2,640. Ray Flynn gave it a good go holding on with a chip and cheer at the end but pocket Jacks and one on the river sealed his fate, he came in 2nd with €1,800 and Michael Merrigan, having a great day came in 3rd and a further €1,190 to his day’s winnings.
With 4 flights left to play, giving hopeful players a chance to have a crack at the €100,000 prize pool in the Main Event, it is sure to be an exciting and busy day at the Green Isle Hotel in Dublin.
