Summer In Dublin – Day 2 Wrap

On the second day of proceedings, the atmosphere was palpable. The thrilling allure of the Mystery Bounty has added fuel to the already roaring fire that is the Summer in Dublin festival. Players were understandably excited at the prospect of securing a trophy, but also the added bonus of going Bounty Hunting.

Starting off the day at 1pm was the Mystery Bounty 1A with 94 entries, which for such an early start on a Thursday was a great turnout. Players eager to bag up a decent stack along with snapping up a few bounties to cash out on the day made for an interesting atmosphere to say the least. 11 entries held on long enough to stash away a bag for the final. By the end of play the highest stacks belonged to Mikey Merrigan with 357,000, Ninni Nguyen with 394,000 and Kevin O’Donnell, who snapped up 478,000.

Main Event 1B €50k for 1st was next on the list, with 71 entries hoping to rake in a stack to bring forward to the final day. With both the Bounty and the Main Event flights being played it was great to be a part of. In the end 15 players moved forward. With the highest stacks secured by Carl Cullen with 263,000, Steven Lee with 278,000 and Duane McDonnell taking through 510,000.

Mystery Bounty 1B kicked off at 7pm, giving players another crack at making it to the following day’s final. 115 entries signed up pushing the prize pool for the tournament well past the guarantee of €25k, bringing it to €44,141. The biggest stacks were secured by Marty Gildea, 290,000. Wang Kwan Chan with 351,000 and Moya Murphy with a whopping 754,000.

With any IPT event, there is always a chance for players on the day to lay their claim to immortality. Securing a coveted trophy to bring back home, along with the tale of how it came about to tell for a lifetime. The Omaha 7-Max had 46 entries. In 3rd place was Darren Floyd taking home €1,200. After a heads-up deal Dermot Flanagan took home €2,000 with Ektor Strumi taking home the trophy and €2,260.

With the Mystery Bounty final, further flights for the Main Event and 2 trophies up for grabs, Friday is set to be one you would be a fool to miss out on. But don’t fret if you can’t make it, stay tuned to livepokerupdates.com to soak up the action…
