There’s Only One Green Isle – Massive Prizepool in Dublin Winter Festival Main
As always, Saturday at the Green Isle delivers. Huge crowds from all over Ireland and beyond, party atmosphere, and bumper paydays. It is ever thus.
536 entries into the Main Event bringing the total so far to 660 with Sunday’s Hyper to come and a prizepool already in excess of €165,000. Leading the qualifiers is Mark Murphy on 786k, second is Keith “Originals” Touhey (730k), and third is last year’s winner James O’Sullivan (710k). Lurking just behind are the likes of Big Mick Graydon, Shane Keary, Derek Baker, Aidan Quinlan, the Bryant Twins and so many other dangerous players. It promises to be a great Final.
Patrick Eagers Keeps His Word
Omaha tournament maestro, Patrick Eagers announced that he was going to win the €7.5k Omaha before a card was dealt and he was true to his word. He collected the trophy and €3,170 after a deal with Leaderboard chasing Killian Farrell (€2,750 and 250 points). Killian has moved above reigning champ Paul Carr into fourth in the standings just behind Steven Stork and Shane Keary. Hugh Smyth still looks untouchable at the top of the tree.
Dublin 400 Headlines Sunday
Aside from the Main, the Dublin 400 with it’s deep stack and structure is the biggest Sunday attraction but the Monsterstack and the closing Omaha 4/5 are certain to entertain also.
