Tour Team Pro Takes Two at Lunasa Lunacy
Double Top for Darren Harbinson
The Lunasa Lunacy Festival at the Green Isle Hotel was always scheduled to be a landmark event for the Irish Poker Tour Team Pros as newly minted Team members Tanya Masters and Paul Carr made their debuts. However, their great start to life as Team Pros in which Paul finished 10th in the Main Event was overshadowed by a remarkable weekend for their colleague Darren Harbinson who took down the Saturday Freezeout and the Lunasa Lunacy Main Event for a total of over €22,000.
Darren is a remarkable ambassador for the Irish Poker Tour with a fabulous poker game mixed with a thoroughly engaging personality. He has been the breakout star of the Tour and now is firmly ensconced at the top of the Leaderboard and is favourite to win the big cash prize and coveted gold bracelet that will be awarded to the table topper come Christmastime.
The visiting group of 33 French poker players added a new element to the famed Green Isle atmosphere. Not only did the visitors have a great time they also had their triumphs with Teddy Bo taking the opening night Freezeout and his father Raphael trousering over €15k for his third-place finish in the Main. They promised to return as soon as possible.
Overall the Festival was a great success with bumper entries and prizemoney totalling over €250,000.
We’ll do it all again at the Dublin Winter Festival in November.
