The Monster is Back

€200,000 Guaranteed for €150, €350,000 in Festival Guarantees

The Green Isle Hotel in Dublin will once again host The Monster Festival this May 1st to 5th and this one promises to be even better than last year’s inaugural triumph. The Monster itself has grown by 33% with a stunning €200,000 guarantee for a €150 buy-in, guarantees are up across the board and now total €350,000.

APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship Announced

The Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) is the world’s largest organisation with a sole focus on recreational players and they are launching the APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship starting on Wednesday 1st with a €40k guarantee for a €125+€25 buy-in. Two flights on Wednesday followed by a Fast flight on Thursday and the Final that evening promise an exciting opening for the Festival.
No deals facilitated in APAT events, the coveted APAT National Championship Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be fiercely fought for.

The French are Coming (Again)

A very exciting feature at last year’s Monster was a group of approximately 20 French players who somehow got wind of the Festival and travelled over together. Well, they loved it, and they told their friends. This year the Holigames group will be at least 50 strong and we even have a tournament in their honour; the Holigames €5k on Thursday evening.

Other Highlights

Friday sees the High-Roller 8-Max One Dayer which boasts a €25k guarantee for a €400 buy-in and the ever-popular Mystery Bounty runs on Saturday with a €20k guarantee and a €250 buy-in. The MonsterStack on Sunday afternoon will have a bumper field chasing the €25,000 guaranteed for a €150 entry.

However, most players will, of course, be eyeing up the massive €200k available in The Monster itself which has Day 1 flights throughout the week and a thrilling Final starting at 12.30pm on Sunday 5th.
